After a glorious Saturday, the sun has gone into hiding again with little chance of returning for a few days more. I love what the combination of sun and rain has done to this island. Everything is a wash of green, bursting with life and color. The light grows stronger as the days increase in length. Spring is in the air!
While the sun was still lingering, Mr. F and I hopped in our new car (yes, you read right! New car!!) and hit the open road with scarcely a plan in mind for where we wanted to go. We had a bag of water and oranges and knew where we could get a few cokes along the way...to where ever we went. Somewhere between "here" and "there" we turned off the main road and veered in the general direction of the coast.
It. Was. Heaven. Warm spring air, charming villages, ancient olive trees, seaside farms, rolling fields, wildflowers, fresh sea breezes, a new mix to christen the car, and a whole lot of silly. After a few weeks of major stress for Mr. F and worry on both our parts about life, the universe and everything, getting lost on some random little beach was exactly what we needed.
That wonderful afternoon has propelled us with full force into a new week. I am working on a few projects for spring around the house, some new cards, and a darling custom piece for my lovely cousin. Wishing you a happy week, and hopefully more sun than we're getting!
