I will openly admit that I didn't think I would enjoy New Orleans as much as I have. The history, the culture, the antiques! Oh heavens, the antiques... And don't even get me started on the beignets! It's our last day here in the Big Easy and I think after this I'll be on a strict no eating policy for awhile. I've had one of the best meals ever on this trip and food will just never be the same after this. And donuts? Poor imitations of fried dough doused in powdered sugar. Pretty soon, we'll be jumping back into a routine and facing life without beignets. Luckily that's a reality I don't have to face just yet.
Brett and I are going for a long weekend in june - what places do you recommend we see or restaurants that we have to eat at??
ReplyDeleteI've got a restaurant guide coming up tomorrow. I don't know if you can go wrong eating anywhere in New Orleans, it was all so good! I would HIGHLY recommend going to the World War II museum over in the garden district. It sucked up a whole day for us but I learned more in that day than in a lifetime of schooling.
