extra-ordinary

My mom and I have this theory.  If you do normal things in out of the ordinary places, it suddenly seems like you're on vacation.  Like going to the Walmart the next town over rather than the one down the street.  I tried this the other day to great success.  Needing to go to the grocery store, a most dreaded event, I bribed myself by saying I would drive down the coast to the market on the beach.  The rest, they say, is history!
It's kind of embarrassing how close we live to the beach and how seldom we go.  I've been trying to pop over more often just to touch the sand and the water.  This stretch of beach is further down the coast from us, with far fewer tourists and big buildings.  It's always calm.  On this day, a storm was rolling in from the north, while the south was still wonderfully clear.  It was beautiful!

By driving a little out of my way, a menial task became so much more fun!  I'm going to have to try this more often...
