Do you ever get overwhelmed with the pace of life? You know, the rapid rate at which things get thrown in your direction? I was sitting in church this morning thinking about this and a timeline started forming in my head.
One year ago: deciding to get married. Engquist working two jobs and an internship, Mr. F buried in his last formal quarter of university.
Eleven months ago: the Stud comes home, formal engagement
Six and a half months ago: working, graduating, marrying, honeymooning, not working, packing, moving, moving, moving, Florida.
Three and a half months ago: flying to Germany for internship.
Two months ago: the Alps, interning, Luxembourg.
One-ish months ago: Paris. Mass effort to find a job.
Five weeks ago: Job offer!
Three weeks ago: flying to Florida, going through boxes, tanning, family, dolphins, moving truck, at least five trips to the airport.
One week ago: drive through a hurricane to the airport, get stuck in Athens, collapse into a bed in Cyprus.
Five days ago: Mr. F starts new job. I apartment hunt.
Three days ago: sign contract on apartment.
Yesterday: move first wave of things into apartment, find IKEA, load IKEA belongings into new home. (We have a home!!)
Today: meet fellow church members here on Cyprus. Almost none of them are Cypriots.
Tonight: last night in Cypriot hotel.
Tomorrow: fly to Lebanon.
Tuesday-Friday: explore the second part of the world in two weeks I NEVER thought I'd ever, ever see.
I think we're officially expats, folks, with very little control of where life is going to take us next.
