just a few things

 this is sister.  isn't she pretty?  we've been doing a lot of bonding this week and let me tell you, it's been so nice to have someone else in the house with me!  plus, she's more than willing to watch endless episodes of Say Yes To the Dress with me.  and she's just got the best sense of humor.  I don't really want her to go back to the States this weekend...maybe I'll conveniently hide her passport...

 our international house on the Fourth.  we fed a swarming mass of LDS missionaries and had a really great time.  these guys are really terrific missionaries and all around great guys.  Mr. F and I enjoy working with them tremendously.

 sadly, this is how sister and I have seen Mr. F most of this week.  he's swamped with work and church, so when we do see him, he's asleep.  poor guy...

 a friend gave me the genius idea to freeze watermelon then blend it up with some mint and drink it like a slushy.  I haven't tried it yet but I've been told it's amazing and a great way to beat the heat!

 summer sales have made it to Cyprus!!! in Europe, clothes don't just instantly go on sale once there's a new rotation of inventory.  nope.  you have to wait for deals.  like six months of wait.  these sales last a whole month and only happen in July/August and January.  sister and I took advantage of a few and got a few really cute pieces!

huli huli chicken.  best. thing. ever.  the recipe is coming.  you'll thank me later. 

proof that I live too far away. another good friend got married and I didn't get the invitation until two days after the wedding. this is the fourth wedding we've missed since moving abroad and it really breaks my heart to not be able to be there for our friends like they were for us. 

 saw this in the Ikea catalog today and thought it was a great idea.  collage old postcards from your travels in a big frame for a larger statement piece.

more wedding portraits!  I really never get sick of doing these... this one is of a young couple who got married just last week!  congratulations!

happy weekend friends!  when we reconvene, sister will be gone and I'm pretty sure I'll need some consoling.  the idea of family not being here anymore just kind of stinks..a lot!  in the meantime though, we're going to take advantage of the few precious hours when Mr. F is not working and at least hit the beach or something.
