what i wore to israel

{shirt: zara, skirt: ann taylor, belt: stradivarius, shoes: thrifted for $1 many, many moon ago}
Did I mention we went to Israel?  Still kind of freaking out over that.  Anyway, our trip there was only for a day.  The five of us woke up at o'dark thirty, drove to the airport and flew to Tel Aviv before most people were thinking about breakfast.  Similarly, we flew home that night long after normal humans had gone to bed. Knowing that I was going to be gone for upwards of 20 hours in a very hot climate made my outfit planning challenge.  I'm rather temperamental when it comes to my clothes, especially when I know I'm going to be hot.  Nothing too restricting or frumpy.  I wanted to be comfortable but still feel cute.  Enter the skirt.  Boy howdy was this a good call!  Even when we waddled into the apartment at two in the morning I still felt cool, calm, cute, and collected.  (Okay, that was probably more because I slept a bit on the plane...but the skirt did help!)  The skirt lent me a nice breeze while I was also dressed appropriately for holy sites.  (You can see sister on the right wearing a scarf tied around her waist to cover her unmentionable knees.)  It was really just a great day and I was fuss free in the outfit department which left me plenty of room to soak in the rest of the experience.
By the way, if you ever have the opportunity to see Jerusalem, do it.

  2. love the stripey top combined with the neutral skirt!! I was never a skirt person until I moved to Cyprus and now the hot humid summers mean my go to is a skirt because trousers are just unthinkable!! :)
