Two weeks ago, Mr. F called me at 11:45 from work and said that travel plans for an interview up in Atlanta had fallen through and that we would need to drive.  The interview was scheduled for the next day at 9:00.  I jumped into high gear, threw our belongings in bags, grabbed his suit, picked him up from the office, and got us on the road by 1:00.  The only thing I forgot was a pair of underwear for myself.  And I wasn't even at home when he called.  I'm kind of a big deal, guys.

Atlanta is a city I visited a lot as a child but haven't seen in nearly 15 years.  We stayed with family which gave me the opportunity to catch up with everyone while Mr. F was in town interviewing.  The subsequent rain and pure exhaustion on both our parts hindered us from doing much more than driving through downtown, eating at The Varsity, and packing up to head south again but we both fell madly in love with the rambling hills of Georgia and the tall, lush pines.  Even though we keep living in hot, tropical locales, we're still a pair of Midwestern kids who get a kick out of deciduous trees and seasons.  No word yet on the interview, but we're both feeling really good about things.  If anything, the nearly  20 hours in the car gave us some much needed time together.  We talked and talked and talked between naps and random 90s sing-alongs.  We're both convinced that 36 hours wasn't enough time and we'd love to get back as soon as possible!
