We went to Israel yesterday. If I say it enough times, maybe it will feel real. We went to Israel. It was a completely surreal experience, one that I will treasure for the rest of my life. We spent the bulk of the day in Jerusalem and I wish we had more time. It was just incredible. The highlight for me came at the very beginning of our day when we stopped at the Garden of Gethsemane. Someday I hope to be able to put into words everything I felt amongst those ancient olive trees. The nearness of the Savior was so strong and the atonement has taken on new meaning. I treasure those moments in my memory. Today the whole family is groggy after a very late return to Cyprus but really happy. Our day in Israel was worth every moment of sleep deprivation.
